Had a brilliant experience and it was so cosy in the Tipi with the fire on......Torsten is a great host.....could t do enough for you ........I was there on my own and it was a treat to get away from the usual routine and chill out. Torsten is such an interesting and funny host and it was great to meet him and chat in front of the fire!!

The house itself felt like a home away from, although not many people live in a tipi. A unique experience and getting to know Torsten topped that off, he's an absolutely great guy and probably the best host on Airbnb at present. Could not recommend the experience anymore (just make sure you can light a camp fire because we couldn't, and that's crap, thankfully Uncle Torsten helped us out!)

Torsten is very knowledgeable guide who knows Scotland. He is a transplant from Germany. He is very opinionated politically. Even though he doesn't like Americans or the English, he was very nice and gave us a nice day in Scotland.

We decided to stay at Torsten's Tipi during our trip and we don't regret it. The setting is idyllic and Torsten can't do enough for you trying to make sure you are as comfortable and happy as can be. He really is the perfect host and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect...even giving us access to his own place while he was away. The location is ideal, secluded and quiet for exploring the area and using Torsten's local knowledge as a tour guide is priceless. The site itself has everything you need including a bathroom and a kitchen/dining area in the house which you have access to and outdoor area which can be used as a kitchen. The Tipi itself was clean, comfortable and easily hosted a family of 5. Great experience and highly recommended if you are willing to try something slightly different.

Staying here was an awesome experience for my whole family. We have six kids and they all were sad to leave (even the teenager)! Torsten is a great host who was able to help us figure out places for us to see since he is a tour guide himself. The beds were comfortable and sleeping in a tipi was a lot of fun.

Torsten's tipi can be seen from far away and also stands out in my experiences of accomodation in Britain. Same as his political views the night I spent in his tipi was very interesting and comfortable. His barhroom in the house is also beautifully decorated. Torsten is easy going and you can talk with him for hours. He also does guided tours. I can only recommend a stay here.

We loved our stay at the tipi. Torsten was an excellent host and had great stories and advice for local places to visit. The tipi itself was perfect and the facilities were great. The campfire was a lovely added touch and we were lucky enough to see shooting stars too. 100% would recommend!

Awesome experience! Torsten was very thorough and knew the history of the area very well. He was on time and tried to make sure we didn't miss seeing anything in our short stay. A heartfelt thank you Torsten!!

I spent the month of July staying in Torsten's home, and it was unlike any other place I've stayed. He was kind enough to make an exception and allow me to bring my dog, and while it was too cold for my old dog to stay in the teepee, he allowed us to stay in a spare bedroom indoors.

The location is awe inspiring, peaceful, and full of history! We shared beyond interesting conversations with Torsten over drinks, and he was beyond kind to me when making me dinner, including some traditional haggis!

He picked us up from the train station, to the grocery store, and to and from the rental car place.

He even made it so that I could "knight" my dog as a joke. Costumes, sword, and everything! Lots of fun pictures and conversation with him, his friend (Sarah) and her daughter that day!

I can't thank him enough for providing such a unique and affordable place for myself and my dog to enjoy. An unforgettable experience!

Torsten is quite the character! As were his other guests. And you'd definitely be missing out on one crazy slice of life if you didn't stay here.
