I am local to this area and Torsten knows it better than me! Where all the tucked away secret places are....His tipi accommodation is cosy and looks funky. The surroundings are peaceful and also private. You're in good hands if you stay here as Torsten is very passionate about Experiencing Scotland Differenty!

I went on a day trip to Glen Affric with Torsten! It turned out to be one of the best days of my life!...so far! Glen Affric was beautiful, an amazing walk with beautiful scenes. He then took us to this hidden waterfall, the power of the water was amazing and invigorating. I didn't think the day could get any better but then...he took us to the most amazing Hobbit house! You have to see it to believe it. If you want to see a real Hobbit house then you can...Thank you so much Torsten! You really do help people to 'Experience Scotland differently'. That day will never be forgotten

Torsten has the most amazing passion for what he does which enhances the experience greatly. His home and being in his company is like a holiday itself, and that's before he takes you around the most incredible places in Scotland. The tipi area has taken so much hard work and effort and could not be more perfect for a weekend away, it is so tranquil and peaceful in this place, when I go I just don't ever want to leave.

Torsten knew the most awesome and beautiful places that I definitely wouldn't have found on my own. He was also incredibly open, friendly and attentive and I enjoyed his company immensely. His home was so nice and cozy. It's obvious that that Torsten puts a lot of love and effort into what he does and it shows. I'm already dreaming of the next time I can come and visit and stay a bit longer this time. Would love to stay in the teepee and the treehouse was a magical place as well. So if you're thinking about having Torsten as your guide then definitely definitely do it!

Torsten, gives people the freedom to craft a magical experience. He really cares about what each person wants rather than providing a cookie-cutter tour. He has a beautiful serene property with tipi and barrel-turned-hot tub that is perfect for families and groups to get away from it all and relax. He also has a 7 seater van and 27 years of experience in the area. I wanted to do hiking and biking so he took me to the best spots, prepared great meals and taught me tons about the area. He is originally from Germany but has been in the area so long he has a unique perspective. Combined with his warm, mellow and attentive attitude, he makes the perfect tour guide.

I had a wonderful holiday with Torsten in the time I spent with him. I came to his place during the Chinese New Year, and he took the initiative to make it special by bringing me to a loch and eating the Chinese New Year treats I had brought, while providing some Scottish whiskey. This was only one of the many things he had done to make my trip extremely memorable. What is great about Torsten is that with him as a tour guide, he does not only bring you to the best places off the beaten tourist track, but that he also recounts the personal significance of these places to him as he grew up in the area. That way, he imparts an unforgettable sense of humanity to an otherwise beautiful, but impersonal, scene of picturesque villages and vast untameable landscapes. He also makes a special effort to customise these trips for you. I knew that I wanted to experience Scotland's wilderness, and Torsten helped to plan the tour accordingly, listening to my input and giving advice when he thought he knew of better places. When a blizzard killed off my original plan of going to The Cairngorms, he suggested an alternative place along the coastline, and I was not disappointed in the least. All in all, I felt like I could not have been given a better and more personalised trip. If you want to avoid the typical tourist traps, if you want to make your holiday worth it, and if you ever want to Experience Scotland Differently, you could do no better than to look for Torsten. In the short time I spent with him, I know I definitely made a new friend, and would be more than willing to show him around Singapore should he ever drop by.

Torsten is full of ideas how you can spend your time in Scotland. We spend really nice time with Torsten in his cosy house - it was winter so we couldn't admire his awesome garden in full glory. We hope to see him one day again - this guy is definately a "must meet" in Scotland
